Porras Family reunion

We had an opportunity to get most of the Porras family together in July.  It was so nice to see some of our family that we have not seen in a really really long time.  Our family is growing so much and it is so nice to know that the Porras name will not die anytime soon.  Love all you guys very much and hope to do it again soon!!
Of course there was drama but what family doesn't have some drama!!  But everyone let it slide and didnt let it ruin our good time together.  My boys met family they had never seen and found out that they had more family right here in Texhoma.

The Color Run

We got the chance to run in a color run in Tulsa with some great friends.  There were tons of people and lots of bright colors.  It was a nice to run with no times to be worried about just great times with friends.  I was really excited because it was the first run Robert was involved in.  He ran with us and unfortunaelty him and Mark finished before Myranda and I.  It's okay because next year Myranda and I are going to beat them.  It is definately a run we will have to do again!!!

Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Our summer vacation this year was in Steamboat Springs.  It was right after school was out and it was hot here but there it was still cool.  The nights were breezy and we made smores around a campfire.  We enjoyed our family trip so much.  The boys swam in a natural hot springs and we hiked up to see a beautiful waterfall. 

Baseball 2012

We had quite the baseball season, from the Indian yodel to coaches fighting with ump. Xavier had a better year and he even had the opportunity to pitch at a couple games. He was pretty excited for the opportunity. Our boys play well as a team and all get along so well. Made the season fun!!!    

St. Martin of Tours/San Martin Caballero

For the last year Robert, Robbie and Mary Jo have been going through the process of becoming Catholic.  At the Easter Vigil they were confirmed into our church.  I had never been to an Easter Vigil, it was very different but nice. 
I was very proud of Robert for deciding to become Catholic and joining our church.  And I felt very honored when he picked his saint for confirmation.  He picked San Martin Caballero.  That saint was my dad's saint.  My dad always had a statue in his room of this saint. 
Congrats you three and the others that were confirmed at Easter Vigil!!!

Spring Break 2012

On Spring Break this year we took the boys on a cruise and spent some days in South Beach Miami.  We had a wonderful time.  The boys spent their days playing and learning new things.  They joined a group called Camp Carnival and they did lots of different things on the boat.  Xavier learned to break dance and Kage learned how to make different kinds of arts and crafts.  They had a blast!!! 





Our cruise was for 3 days to the Bahamas.  What a crazy world the Bahamas was.  Beautiful waters and resorts but it really reminded me of Mexico.  People were driving like maniacs on both sides of the road.  One thing we found very interesting is how much they loved Queen Elizabeth in the Bahamas.

 



In Miami we went to Jungle Island and saw some cool animals and Xavier got to bottle fed some goats.  He was after the pot belly pigs but the goats were faster.  Kage did not want to get to close to any animal.  It was funny!! 

We also went to South Beach, what a beautiful view.  Xavier got to play in the water!! He had a blast! He did not want to leave the beach area.  I have to admit it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen in my life!!

It was a trip of a lifetime and I hope our kids remember it forever!! I will always remember the smiles and the enjoyment I saw in their faces.  Thank you my family for a wonderful and memorable trip!

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

On January 15th, 2012, I joined an amazing team and ran a half marathon.  Our team, TEAM VICTORIOUS, was the largest team to run for this great benefit and we got an automatic position in the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco.  I tried to get in this run last year but so many people try that they do a pool and I didnt make it.  So I am really excited to join this awesome team in San Francisco in October. 
Another great reward we received was a leather braclet made by Hurley and Nike!!
